Crash in Downtown Summit
Thu, Aug 12th, 2010 8:49:00 am - Summit was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident on Route 895 East in Summit Station. Chief 34-05 (W Heffner) was on a special assignment with Tanker 34-36 and arrived on scene in minutes of the dispatch to find a 10 wheeler dump truck into a structure at the "S" turn in Summit. Rescue/Engine 34-55 went responding under the command of Chief 34-07 (W Heffner III) and arrived on scene to assist in closing down Route 895. Chief 34-05 checked with all occupants of the home and the driver for injuries, and found everybody to be ok. Firefighters checked the home for any structural damage and only found damage to  the porch area and a retaining wall. Chief 34-05 has dispatch contact Penn Dot to check the retaining wall. Station 2 was on scene for approx. 95 minutes until the scene was cleared.
